What I Wore Today

My outfit was a little different today. It had bright colors in it and I don't usually wear bright or neon colors. Most of the clothing in my closet is black or other darker colors. So I am a bit hesitant to try a lime green or bright orange. My mom is tells me to wear brighter colors and occasionally I do. But then I just end up looking too boring or too girly. I haven't really been able to figure out a way to balance edgy style and bright colors.
I wore bright peach hoodie and it is fleece so it feels very warm and comfy. I paired it with a plain long sleeved black v-neck shirt. The shirt goes with anything and it can be dressy or casual. Underneath the shirt I wore a gray tank top. Then put I on my light blue skinny jeans. My sneakers are faux leather with gold studs on them. I love these sneakers because they are kind of sporty and punk mixed together.

For accessories, I wore a skull necklace. The skull has a rose in its mouth. It is gold and distressed. I really like my outfit today.

This was a very different look for me but it still looks cool!

Punk: Colorful Stars

Grab your camera snap  a photo new twist on the Punk look! Wear the One Step Up Brushed Sweatshirt. It has a bright orange color and a black star on it. It is bright and edgy. To keep warm add a cool touch throw a 4 Pocket Anorak Vest. It's distressed denim and these motorcycle style vests are becoming popular at the moment.

The Almost Famous High Waisted Skinny Jeans are perfect with this outfit. They are in a dark wash. I think the jeans balance out the lighter colors. Slip on the Demonia Deviant Lace-up Canvas Sneakers. In the color black and the shoes are extra high tops. I like high top sneakers because their a bit of a step up from your usual low tops and have an 80s retro vibe. Actually, many punks in the 1980s wore neon and bright colors.

So to finish off this look put on the Lovesick Spike Bangle and the Skull Daisy Sunglasses. With this outfit, you will be retro and new, bright and punky, feminine and tough . All at the same!

Emo: Bright Skulls

If you are looking for a cute way to wear that neon top that's probably been in hanging among all of the black clothing in your closet forever. Don't worry anymore. I have figured it out for you! Grab the Lime Skull Top, is made of a thin material. On the back, it has a black sheer panel. Roll up the sleeves to show off the Jac Vanek Peace White Rubber Bracelet and Jac Vanek Cross Black Rubber Bracelet. Make this outfit tougher with the Pieced Faux Leather Legging. Then the Unleahesd by Rocket Dog Naida Laceless Flats, they are gray canvas flats with frayed stitching on them. It would be easy to walk in and very comfortable to wear these flats. The neon mixed with the leather makes this outfit a unique combination. I think it is a must-have for an Emo girl.

Scene: Neon Craze

Neon, fluorescent or other bright colors can be difficult for anyone to pull off especially if you are going for more alternative styles. So this week I will be focusing on how to wear bright colors and how to make them look edgier. Today I have a Scene outfit. Scene fashion is known for its bright colors so this would be easy to put together, you just need to add an edgy vibe to it. First, a neon pink and white striped Minnie Mouse sweatshirt. It is very comfortable and cute. I have seen a lot of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse characters on clothing lately. Pair this sweatshirt with Machine Gray Acid Wash Skinny Jeans. These jeans are distressed and cool.

Next, wear a pair of pewter gray Authentic Lo Pro Vans sneakers. The Vans sneakers are an essential to any  Scene outfit. A plain gray Solid Soft Knit Stretch Headband is perfect , it will keep your forehead warm and keep the hair out of your face. There is a lot of gray in this outfit.Remember to wear bright or neon colors with neutrals such gray as to tone them down.To finish off this look, you pick one of the stud earrings from the Crosses Earrings 20 Pack and a OMG Long Strand Necklace. The necklace is gold and it compliments everything in this outfit very well. Actually it is the perfect word to describe this outfit. O-M-G!!!

                                Step One
Open a magazine and flip through the pages,
when you see a clothing item that you like.
Draw a circle around it with a pen.

You can draw a circle around clothes, shoes, jewelry,
jackets , makeup, celebrities or models or musicians that a have a similar style to you,
hairstyles, even colors and shapes that inspire you.

                            Step Two

Use the scissors and cut along the lines.
Cut out the image from the magazine.

                         Step Three

Place the cut out image onto a piece
of notebook paper and use the tape dispenser
or stapler to attach the image onto the paper.

Next, using the pen write a category title on the top of the paper
For each page, write a different category title.
Example : JEANS
Example: The category title labeled JEANs has an image
of blues jeans on the notebook page.

                          Step Four

On the notebook pages you can write
inspiring qoutes. Pick qoutes about style, fashion ,
 positive self-esteem, self-confidence. You can
also include song lyrics from your favorite songs.

Example: "Wear what makes you feel happy"
                  - (insert author of qoute)

                           Step Five

Last step, place the notebook page into the
binder. Insert the page onto the three rings and close them.
If you want to you can also use a blank paper
